As part of Black History Month, members of the school's Student of Color Association (SOCA) delivered a presentation at Morning Meeting this Friday. In their presentation, Berkley L. '26, Roy J. '27, Tyreis M. '25 celebrated Black heritage while also mobilizing current events to educate about the state of racial justice in this country, making clear that Black History Month is as much about Black futures as it is about Black histories.
SOCA, one of the school's most active affinity groups, is currently preparing for AISNE's High School Students of Color Conference. They'll be traveling to Regis College the weekend of April 5th to build community with student's of color from independent schools around New England. As part of the event, Dublin School SOCA has been asked to prepare a performance art piece. Tyreis shares their performance will combine elements spoken word poetry, piano, and dance in a dynamic montage of expression.
