Revisit Day: Welcoming Next Year's Dubliners to Campus

It was STANDING ROOM ONLY during Morning Meeting this past Wednesday. Sophomores and Juniors were temporarily displaced as rows four to nine (ish) were filled with the families of admitted students on campus for Revisit Day, the Admissions Office’s Superbowl.

Coming two days before admitted students make their enrollment decision, Revisit Day offers prospective families one final chance to learn about the school.

What makes Revisit Day unique is that everyone in attendance has already been admitted, and so visitors are on campus and able to connect with their future classmates. I’m writing this soon after a conversation with Elias S. ‘26 where we talked about the college selection process. One of the emergent themes of that conversation was that pretty campuses are nice, prestige is cool, quality of education is important, but that what ultimately makes or breaks a college experience is the people you spend those years with. The point is that knowing who you might be coming to Dublin with next year is a crucially important input into the decision making process, and one of the reasons Revisit Day is so impactful.

This Revisit Day we awoke to a preternaturally beautiful campus. Everywhere was the ephemeral white of snow that would melt before we break for lunch. Even so, the birds sang softly and sweetly, knowing perhaps that the sun would not be long in breaking through the overcast.

It was a good day! A great day, actually. Proctors kicked things off with an ice-breaker activity after Morning Meeting. While that was happening, the rest of the community was busy preparing their tables for the Opportunity Fair (pictured above). All clubs, affinity groups, and activities were represented there, giving visitors a chance to ask questions about the areas of student experience that most interest them. The vibes were immaculate, as they say.

Though initially assigned to specific tables, students were in constant circulation during the opportunity fair, bouncing between tables as they tried to juggle their many interests. It was like a mammoth game of twister.

Later in the day, visitors were able to attend classes in areas of academic interest, meet with the leadership team, and even participate in Milk & Cookies.

Director of Enrollment Management Jackie Kenney and her team expressed their gratitude in a Commons email later that evening.

“You fill my heart all the way up, Dublin!!

Thank you so much for all of your engagement, preparation and energy you brought to Revisit Day! I am so inspired by and grateful to you all for making Dublin what it is and sharing this with our visitors today. You blew our accepted families away with your openness, talents and curiosity.” - Ms. Kenney and the Admissions Office

Thank you to all the prospective families who made it to campus. We’re excited to welcome you to Dublin next fall!
