Hello Dublin Families,
Winterfest is around the corner, and we hope to see you there. Dublin has many wonderful traditions, but this is our favorite. Winterfest is magic because it pulls everyone into the fun, whether your student is new (and perhaps still shy) or the leader of the dorm. It's inclusive, infectious fun! According to Brad, this might shape up to have the best Winterfest winter conditions in his seventeen years at the school!
We will be in the Admissions Living Room at 4:00pm on Friday for those who arrive early. The Parent Social at 6:30pm in the Outing Club is a fun warmup for the famous lip sync competition at 8pm (which is also live streamed on the parent page of the website https://www.dublinschool.org/parents/event-livestreams).
The competition resumes on Saturday with the Pep Rally followed by outdoor games like the nerf biathlon that could be serious contenders for Olympic recognition. Parents who want to be an integral part of the action can volunteer as officiants/volunteers (no experience required) by coming to the meeting in the School House on Saturday at 8:45am.
Despite our previous tip to you to secure a hotel room early, we forgot to make one ourselves and were pleasantly surprised by the availability in Peterborough and Keene.
If you plan on attending, please register if you haven't already here.
Two other quick shout outs....
Part one of our informal parent book met last week group discussing the book, 10 to 25, the Science of Motivating Young People. The gathering was informative and fun. We hope you will join us for the next one on Monday, April 7th at 7pm (attending the first one or even reading the whole book is NOT a prerequisite). All those who attended agreed that this book is a game changer. More details to come.
Last, please consider helping us reach 100% family participation goal by contributing to the Dublin Fund this year (any amount welcome!). We are so grateful to have found Dublin School and to be a part of this exceptional community.
Regards,
Tanya and Robert Smith, P’25
