Life of Some Troubadours

Life of Some Troubadours

We have some students with remarkable singing voices. Recently, a number of these students have taken their gifts out into the community to join their voices to a chorus of others who call the Monadnock Region home.

Last weekend, Helen R. ’26, Max G. ’26, Avery D. ’26, Sierra E.K. ’27, Jack D. ’28, and Howie P. ’28 participated in the Monadnock Valley Music Festival at Keene State’s Redfern Arts Center, singing alongside high-school aged vocalists from across the region. Additionally, Avery D. played in the Honors Band.

Then on Monday, a larger group of students joined The Monadnock Choir, directed by Dr. Brittney Redler, to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at The Park Theatre in Jaffery. Performing as part of Lift Every Voice: A Celebration in Song, an annual commemoration of the Civil Right Movement, they offered renditions of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “Woke Up This Morning With My Mind Stayed on Freedom,” standards of the Civil Rights Movement. You can read more about the event in the Keene Sentinel, linked here.
