After a rigorous interview process, twelve rising seniors and six rising juniors have been selected to lead the charge as Proctors for the 2023-2024 school year. Proctors contribute to the overall success of the school year in many ways, from acting as leaders in the dorms and running the time-honored Dublin tradition of “Milk and Cookies” to planning campus events both big (Winterfest) and small (weekend activities). Alongside leadership training and faculty guidance, their goal is to foster a welcoming, safe environment for all students. Proctors build strong relationships and positively impact the Dublin community by bringing energy, enthusiasm, and making sure that everyone has fun.
Ava Rondeau ‘24 served as one of the Day Student Proctors this past year and will be continuing in this role as a senior. Reflecting on her experience, she values the connection to community and the personal growth she has made: “My role as proctor has allowed me to be able to build deeper and stronger relationships with the students and also with the faculty… At the beginning of the year, I was a little hesitant and not as confident in my abilities, but throughout the year my confidence has grown and I have learned that I am capable of being a proctor and friend that people can depend on.”
Looking ahead, she notes, “I am really excited to be a proctor because the ‘23-’24 group of students already brings such good energy and enthusiasm. Personally, I really want to continue to grow my confidence in my leadership and explore different and out-of-the-box ways to apply it. I’m also striving for back-to-back Winterfest wins! Next year I hope to make a positive impact on the culture of Dublin since I am in a position to facilitate that change.”
