Fall Athletic Awards
Sailing - Coach Venne & Coach Wilcox:
Sailing is unlike any other team sport. We sail in all kinds of weather - sunshine, gusty wind, low wind, rain—and sometimes even snow. Our “field” is never fixed; it shifts and swells beneath us. The wind breathes life into our sails, and our skills transform it into speed, letting us fly across the water. We exhale the stress of the academic day as we lean into the breeze, eyes squinting toward the sunlit peak of Mount Monadnock.
Coaches Awards:

Sculling - Coach Brown & Coach Goodhue:
Most Improved:
- Quinn C. '28
- "Quin’s belief in themselves grew every day this year. Moving into the stroke seat was a surprise for them, but they took on the challenge with alacrity and resolve.
Dedicated:
- Nurai M. '28
- "Nurai is a warrior. She seemed quiet, almost docile, at first, but put an oar in her hands and she became another girl. Wow!"
Coaches Award:
- Ellie K. '28
- "Ellie took to rowing like a fish does to water. Once Coach Goodhue told her she could pull harder, she never looked back."
Cross Country - Coach Villaamil & Coach Richards:

- Emelia D. '27
- "We have great hopes for Emelia in the next two years as she continues to develop into an even better runner and mentor for younger teammates."

- "Freddy always chose to run the longest distance and embraced the sport with joy and a good sense of humor."
Coaches Award (Boys):
- Ben M. '26
- "I am proud of his results, but even more in awe of his leadership. You can always count on Ben to cheer on his teammates, lift them up, run alongside them in the races, and always with a smile on his face."
Coaches Award (Girls):
- Jin Fan '25
- "Jin took on the role of the Captain this year and we couldn't have asked for a kinder, more enthusiastic role model on the team.
Most Valuable Runner (Girls):
- Morgan R. '26
- "I admire Morgan’s accountability and work ethic. She is dedicated, not only to the sport, but to her team through and through."
Most Valuable Runner (Boys):
- Quinn Hutchins '25
- "Quinn deserves accolades for his athletic results, but I prefer to highlight his role as a team captain, teammate, and mentor for younger runners. As legendary Czech long-distance runner Emil Zatopek used to say, “Victory is great, but friendship is greater.”
Mountain Biking - Coach Jackson, Coach Phinney & Coach Matthias:
Most Improved:
- Kole W. '28
- "Sorry Kole, like it or not, you’re moving up to A class next year! Our Most Improved Rider is Kole Wagenbach."
Most Valuable Rider:
- Skyah M. '27
- "The determination, work ethic and discipline that she brings to her training every day propels her to the podium at every competition. But mountain biking is more than a podium finish for Skyah - her joy and love of the sport has shone through in every aspect of our season."
Shelly and Bill Farrell Award:

- "Hayden has earned the coach’s award for being the player who brings out the best in her teammates through her positive attitude, tremendous work ethic, and the joy she brings to practices and games."
Most Valuable Player:
- Holland Calcutt '25
- "She is one of those players who elevates the play of those around her, and helps everyone to love practices and games. Holland was another coach on the field and during halftime. She has an incredible balance of competitiveness and perspective."
Boys Soccer - Coach Doenmez & Coach Sullivan:
Most Improved:
- Finley F. '27
- "He was open to receiving the feedback he was given and by late September, his performances began to improve. By late October, he was our man of the match in two of our biggest games of the season."
Coaches Award:
- Aaron Meehan '25
- "During our toughest matches, he had some incredible performances, putting his body on the line for his team again and again. He’s also a soccer guy through and through, and spread his love for the game throughout the wider Dublin School community by organizing regular futsal sessions in the gym during the offseason.
Most Valuable Player:
- Brody Edmunds '25
- "He wasn’t our most technical player and he probably only scored a handful of goals over his entire career but his impact on the team can’t be overstated."
