Earl Schofield's "Encaustic Landscapes," on display now

Longtime Visual Arts Teacher Earl Schofield wants the world to know: his latest collection of paintings, entitled Encaustic Landscapes, is on view at the Peterborough Town Library’s Community Art Gallery now through February 28th.

An official reception for the gallery opening will be held at the Peterborough Town Library from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, January 20th, and you are invited! Schofield will be there to explain what “encaustic” means, reflect on his method and choice of medium, and speak about how his collection relates to the experience of being human. A more fulsome description of the show can be found here

The thirty-five frame collection is being shown in memoriam of the mother of Earl’s daughter, who passed away in 2023 – half of all proceeds from sales will be donated to the Peterborough Food Pantry in her name.

If you’re unable to make the reception, definitely consider stopping by the gallery on an alternative date. And if that’s not realistic, check out a cross section of Encaustic Landscapes on Earl’s website, linked here.
