The Dublin School Boys’ Varsity Soccer team defeated Winchendon 3-0 last Saturday on Memorial Field. On home turf, with an intense crowd of committed families and friends, the Wildcats were set for a memorable afternoon. A 2 p.m. start gave the starting defenders plenty of time to fuel up with breakfast and lunch, while the offensive players spent some time warming up in front of the goal. With a beautiful blue sky and the Observatory in the distance, the game was underway.

A defensive stand-off for the first ten minutes of play gave Wesley J. ’29 time to warm up his legs before punishing the opposing goalkeeper's confidence with a strike down the middle.. With the Wildcats offensive cooking and the defensive playing like a brick wall, Winchendon looked exhausted at halftime.

The Wildcats weren't done taking care of business, though. Luca M. ’28 went full Lamine Yamal, weaving through Winchendon's back line before curling one top bins. For the cherry on top, Stanton A. ’29 finished the scoring with his first career Dublin School goal.

When the final buzzer sounded, mayhem ensued. Players rushed the field before shaking hands with Winchendon, and the celebration began. An unprecedented upset was thanks to not just a specific player, but as a team effort. With an undefeated season after a win against Newhampton JV and Winchendon, the Wildcats hope to make it three straight against Holderness.

Diving Into Camp Nielsen.

Tucked away below Dublin's main campus is a breathtaking, tranquil, and rugged piece of land we call Camp Nielsen. Our intention is to make this space an integral part of the Dublin School education: a place where students will experience self-discovery, unlock creativity, and develop the kind of perseverance and skills that can only come from a deep familiarity with the outdoors. To help us work toward that goal, we have created unique experiences for our ninth through eleventh graders that will fully immerse them in Camp Nielsen.
