Katie and I have been looking over the weather forecast and the river flow information obsessively for the past 24 hours. Right now the CT River, in the area where the race is scheduled to be held, is far above the 75th percentile of normal volume of water. The wind and high current tomorrow will make racing very difficult, in our opinion, and the conditions will pose a risk to the athletes and the equipment. Just the debris coming down a rain-swollen river will be a big hazard.
Therefore we have decided to withdraw from the race tomorrow.
