We would like to thank John Wilkinson '81 for bringing world-recognized mariner Rich Wilson to the School and sponsoring his lecture here last Sunday. Wilson's lecture, accompanied by photos and video was amazing. "We knew from the start I had no chance of winning. I was the oldest racer, have serious asthma, and had the oldest boat. And I was an American!" he said. His presentation took the audience with him as it began, cheered on by 350,000 well- wishers, and then across the world's oceans, 121 days, 28,000 miles, and back to an exultant finish at Vendee, where he was dubbed, "The Great American," also the name of his boat.
