On Thursday, April 22, Meredith Hoffman '11 was recognized at the Spring Big Brothers Big Sisters Award Ceremony. She was selected by Karen Brook, the Coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, for her work with her little brother, Woody. Congratulations, Meredith!
Here is the speech Karen prepared to acknowledge Meredith:
“Meredith Hoffman is the ‘Big of the Year’ for Dublin School. For the last two years she has been matched with Woody. The strength that Meredith brings to this relationship is uniqueness. What I love about this match is that they both 'get' who they are as individuals and enjoy each other’s company. They are not worried about what the other Bigs and Littles are doing because they only have that hour and they are focused. This winter Meredith asked Woody if he wanted to go sledding. Woody’s response was basically that he can go sledding during his recess, and instead he wanted to do activities with Meredith that he wouldn’t get to do during the school day! They have taught each other origami, card games and have written a comic book series together to name just a few of the things they have done recently. Meredith is graduating this year and we will miss her. Thanks for your uniqueness and your attitude of respect to Woody and the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.”
