Our Theater Arts program serves up one of the highlights of the season, when it stages its annual show at the end of winter term. For those who are a part of it—in a typical year some 35 students have a hand in the production—the production fulfills Dublin's winter sports requirement. Theater students form a tight-knit group to take on a demanding, intense, and rewarding creative process. It culminates in five sold-out performances in our 125-seat theater in the recently built Fountain Arts Building. Recent shows have included Urinetown, Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, Hair, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Pippen, and Our Town.
At the center of the Theater Arts program is a strong academic component. The curriculum is constructed to give students a strong taste of stage work as well an appreciation for the importance of the theater in shaping the world and culture around them.
