Alumni Spotlight: Journey Campaign Alumni Postcards from Texas!

TEXAS- Dublin School Journey Campaign Postcard from the big state of Texas!) 💌📭📮📸

Just attended a great CASE/NAIS conference in Austin, TX and in between sessions visited with ourTX alumni: Taylor Phillips Hungerford‘05 in Houston, working at NASA, Peter Dunphy’14 in Austin finishing a PhD, Bill Hansen’85 in Austin teaching people how to save lives, and retired Sargent, Sean Lockwood’90 who lives outside the city.

Also had good conversations with Amir Jaima ‘00 a professor at Texas A&M, and Charles Kaplan ’61 still practicing law in Dallas!

Love learning about their unique careers and growing families and sharing updates on Dublin students and faculty today. But I was missing one of Dublin’s most loved Texans, Bob Kirkland ’82, grateful I got to visit with his wonderful family.

Alumni Spotlight: Cameron Harrington '17

Recently we caught up with Dublin Alumnus Cam Harrington '17, who has been working with the Peace Corps in Peru!

"I currently serve as a volunteer in Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Peru. My work is in that of community health, one of the five programs the Peace Corps has here in Peru. Peace Corps Peru varies from other countries in the fact that every volunteer lives with a host family. This allows each volunteer to totally integrate, should they put forth the effort, into their respective communities and to support language learning."

Alumni Spotlight: Faith Lewis '18

Faith Lewis '18 recently moved to Vienna, Austria to pursue a Doctorate in physics after finishing her Master's Degree in chemistry at Loyola University! In 2017, she received a book award from Dublin History Chair Lindsay Brown- 'American Prometheus: the Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer' by Kai Bird and Marin J. Sherwin. She had written her final paper for U.S. History on The Manhattan Project, and has serendipitously ended up in the same lab where Oppenheimer spent some time training, TU Wein. Check out the photo above of Faith on her first day!
