Associate Director of Admissions
B.A. Penn State
M.A. Boston College
I grew up in State College, PA; home to Penn State University. I spent my childhood running around outside with my best friends and two older brothers. I satisfied my competitive streak with field hockey, ski racing and lacrosse in high school. I went on the attend Penn State '10-14, and competed for the university's field hockey team for four years. Through the challenges and joys of playing field hockey, I met some of my dearest friends and learned about commitment and being a great teammate.
After I graduated from Penn State with Bachelor's Degrees in Sociology and in Communications, I set out for Telluride, CO. I spent the next two years skiing and hiking around Southwest Colorado with new friends. In 2016, I relocated to the Boston, MA to earn my Master's Degree in Sociology from Boston College. I recently joined the Dublin School community and I am excited for the opportunity to get to know our current and prospective students and their families!
What teacher has had the greatest impact on you? Why were they special? My AP Government teacher, Mr. Merritt. He challenged me to engage in the political world, listen with empathy to opposing views and to develop thoughtful and inclusive solutions. Mr. Merritt brought emotion, inquiry and tough honesty to class everyday.
How would your friends describe you in three words? Adventurous, patient and open-minded
What is your favorite course you have taken in high school or college? Besides high school PE, my favorite class has been Classical Social Theory in college and grad school. My professors have pushed me to upend my basic assumptions of the world. I love imagining old scholars in the 1800-1900s wrestling with understanding the rapidly changing world around them. My Classical Social Theory courses continue to inspire me to grapple with and ask big questions social structures and our global community.
I am most happy when… I am sitting around a fire with old and new friends. There is something about a crackling fire that fills the silences and also brings out the best conversations.
What is your favorite outdoor activity? It depends on the season; skiing in the winter and hiking in the warmer months.
