B.A. St. Lawrence University
I was born in Burlington, Vermont and spent my childhood immersed in education, athletics and other passions such as music. As a sophomore in high school, I entered the private boarding school world at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire. After graduating from KUA, I attended St. Lawrence University, where I was a two-time captain of the men's lacrosse team. At St. Lawrence, I majored in Global Studies, and learned to practice critical thinking -- a mindset that informs much of my beliefs and lifestyle today.
What book has made you think the most? Universal Human Rights by Jack Donnelly
What teacher has had the greatest impact on you? Why were they special? Coach Pottle -- my lacrosse coach at KUA. He was legendary for being a kind of mythical figure in New England prep school lacrosse, but he was most special to me because of the care he showed his players.
How would your friends describe you in three words? Well-rounded, honest, dedicated.
What is your favorite course you have taken in high school or college? All of the courses taken as a part of my Global Studies major. They taught me to challenge my understanding of key factors, such as bias, motive, and positions of power.
I am most happy when... I notice positive personal change. I am still very much on a path of inquiry, education, and mental / physical / spiritual development.
