Cross Country New England Div. IV Champions! - November 10, 2018

Cross Country New England Div. IV Champions! - November 10, 2018

On Saturday, November 10th, Dublin School Cross Country capped off a truly historic and undefeated season with first place team finishes in the Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity and Boys JV races at the NEPSTA Div. IV Championships! The race was hosted by Marianapolis Prep in Thompson, CT, which had seen over two inches of rainfall in the days leading up to the race. The Dublin runners braved the mud and standing water along the course to emerge victorious in an inspiring display of individual grit mixed with unwavering commitment to their team.

To put all these results in context, the previous best team finishes for the Boys' and Girls' Varsity teams at the NEPSTA championships had been 4th (2017) and 7th (2015), respectively, with the Boys JV team coming in a close second in 2016. Winning all three races in the same year is something truly special and also unprecedented in NEPSTA Div IV.

Boys and Girls Cross Country teams win RVAL Championships

Boys and Girls Cross Country teams win RVAL Championships

On Wednesday, 10/31, the Dublin Cross Country team capped off the RVAL season with another dominant performance at the league championship race hosted by BART, on the slopes of Mt. Greylock in Adams, MA. Dublin finished first as a team in the varsity girls and boys races, as well as in the JV boys race!

While the team is proud of their accomplishments to date, there is certainly a sense of unfinished business as we prepare for the final race of the season, the NEPSTA Championships at Marianapolis in Thompson, CT. Dublin runners will test themselves against the best in New England, facing off against 30+ schools! With the strongest boys and girls teams Dublin has ever seen, it is certain to be an exciting day. Stay tuned!

Cross Country at Putney School - Win - October 24, 2018

On Wednesday, Dublin XC completed the regular season race series at Putney. Both girls and boys teams capped off an impressive and unprecedented regular season, having gone undefeated. The girls team showed great depth and persistence by securing a team victory, despite missing our top two runners. Congratulations to Lilly Bates (4th), and Aggie Macy (5th), Isolina Miller (8th), Rielly Harrison (13th), and Camille Pollak  (16th). The boys set a Dublin School (and we believe league) record, with the lowest team score ever, a 25 (keeping in mind the lowest possible score is a 15)! Quinn Wilson led the charge in 3rd overall, followed impressively closely by Kyle Mincey (4th), Aaro Virtanen (5th), Max Johnson (6th) and Ian Baker (7th). Those five finished in a span of only 19 seconds! Congratulations to all Dublin runners for showing true grit on a muddy, hilly course.

With the regular season now concluded, both teams will begin preparing our final two races of the season: the RVAL Championships at BART on Halloween, and the New England Championships at Marianapolis in Thompson, CT on Saturday, 11/10. Runners are excited to see their hard work pay off and hopeful that the team depth they have displayed will serve them well in the larger field.

Cross Country at Academy at Charlemont - October 10, 2018

Dublin XC continued its RVAL unbeaten streak at Charlemont on Wednesday, with strong first place team finishes by both the girls and boys teams. In a display of unprecedented, depth, Dublin's top seven girls finished in the top 14 overall. The boys had similar success, placing Dublin's top twelve runners in the top 23 places overall! In fact, Dublin's second five runners, Alex Antonellis, James Wolpe, Leo Zhou, Alex Vienneau, and Clint Macy, would have finished in second place overall, had they been registered as a separate team!

Congratulations are in order for Kyle Mincey, who had the race of his Dublin career, finishing in 3rd place overall, only 9 seconds out of first! He was followed closely by Max Johnson (5th), Quinn Wilson (6th), Ian Baker (8th) and Aaro Virtanen (10th). On the girls side, Lila White won the race, followed by Lee Smith (2nd), Aggie Macy (8th), Isolina Miller (11th) and Rielly Harrison (12th). Laura Hoffheimer (13th) and Camille Pollak (14th) helped out by displacing top runners from other teams.

We are looking forward to a rare home race this Saturday!

Cross Country vs RVAL at Northfield Mount Hermon - September 26, 2018

On Wednesday, 9/26 Dublin XC traveled to NMH who generously allowed us to use their race course for our "home" meet, as our actual course is still recovering from the historic rainfall totals of the last 2 months. It was quite a success for both the Boys' and Girls' teams, who each took first place out of a field of eight and nine teams, respectively.
