The Dublin school alpine team just finished up an exciting race at the Proctor ski hill (built by the best coach out there, Sandy Eneguess!) with some awesome results. The course was very flat at the beginning, but thanks to all of our time in the gym the team pulled out their skating muscles and had some great times.
On the girls side, Mya Kerwin came in third overall, taking home a medal. Caitlin Hegarty came in 26 with some great technique. Niki Lampman took home 28 followed closely by Katie Strauss in 31. Lucy Walton had an exciting crash first run where one ski went flying but she recovered for second run coming in 42!
Out of the male athletes for the day, Reed Brencher came in 15 after battling some fast competitors. Oren Roblee had an awesome finish after tipping over for a quick second in his second run start, coming in close behind Reed in 27. Adam Sieswerda pulled out some excellent skating tactics and came in 37. William Stinson was right behind Adam with 44. Calvin Morrison has an excellent day with a finish of 46 place. Wyatt Hodgkins also had two excellent runs coming in 48. And last but not least, Colin Brown unfortunately had a DNF first run but Mountain Manned up for his second run and came in 50!
Overall a great day of GS racing with some aggressive competition and a few bumps In the course. A special congratulations to all athletes who competed in their first GS race this season and in their skiing careers!
