In the Lakes Region Championship races the top boys and girls from nine schools including Dublin School, Holderness School, ProctorAcademy, New Hampton, Vermont Academy, Saint Paul’s School, Kimball Union, Cardigan Mountain School and Brewster Academy competed in a slalom at Proctor ski area in Andover N.H.
The top part of the race was many degrees cooler than the bottom, it was a challenge for all having a winter sport at such a high temperature.
Dublin Wildcat’s Mya Kerwin was 5th. Ann Ratta was 27th. Madeleine Pelissier 35th. Laura Coffin had some bad luck in the second run and did not finish.
For the Dublin boys Reed Brencher bested all other Dublin boys with a 12th. Followed by Silas Howe in 13th. Sean Brown was 27th with an amazing recovery that had to of lost seconds, but still was ahead of the majority of the pack. Colin Brown was in the chase at 32nd, with Nick Runyon not too far back in 34th. Eric Freeman glad to be racing this week was 39th. Phillip Simons bringing in the end of the Dublin boys at 41st.
Racers competed after an early departure under sunny skies with a record warm temperature around 70 degrees. The team scores place Dublin in the middle of the group of the Lakes region finals, a great day for all to end the winter series.
