Girls took on a well coached JV team from New Hampton School in the first of three games this week. As in recent games, Dublin’s dominance off the draw led to a lopsided field. While New Hampton played good and aggressive defense, the 50:50 balls seemed to all be going Dublin’s way today. While we weren’t particularly efficient in the opening 10 minutes, the ability to maintain control of the zone led to multiple scoring opportunities. Eventually, the shots started falling and the scoreboard began to reflect Dublin’s control over the game. The defense continues to improve — in one two minute stretch, New Hampton maintained control over the ball in our defensive zone but the defense rotated beautifully to prevent any shot reaching the goal.
Scoring for Dublin: Bette Imhoff (Dublin, NH) 7G, 3A; Stella Davis (Dublin, NH) 4G; Sabrina Hayden (Marlborough, NH) 1G, 1A; Adunni Abrams (Brooklyn, NY) 1G; Aggie Macy (Dublin, NH); and Brianna Moore (Irvington, NJ) 1A. Goaltenders Amani Natson (Hillside, NJ) and Caitlin Hegarty (Durham, NH) combined for the shutout, making a total of seven saves.
