Boys played in the Eagle Hill School Tournament. It was a round robin with Williston Northampton JV and the hosts, Eagle Hill School. Dublin was named tournament champions for the second consecutive season.
Game 1: vs. Williston Northampton JV - Win 7-1
We got off the bus ready to play, and quickly took advantage of our best matchups against Williston's defenders. Our offense moved the ball well, and extended our possessions until we found the best shooting opportunity, and buried our opportunities. On defense, we were able to identify Williston's top threats and play strong topside defense on their starting attackmen.
Goal scorers included seniors Ben Simon (3) and Cam Harrington (2), and juniors Fab Joseph (2) and Joe Dupont-Roche (1). Sophomore Ian Baker had a strong performance at the faceoff x, winning many draws to the wing side of senior Mark Franklin, who was adept with the long pole on ground balls. Sophomore Idriss Traore finished with seven saves in net.
Game 2: vs. Eagle Hill School - Win 8-2
In our second of two back-to-back contests, the Dublin lacrosse team built another quick lead and controlled the pace of play against Eagle Hill. Eagle Hill proved to be a determined opponent, and showed great sportsmanship, but was unable to create scoring opportunities against the stout Dublin defense. Freshman Nate Gryczka played well on defense, and showed a lot of heart in the clearing game where he carried the ball through tough pressure from riding attackmen. Young midfielders, such as sophomore Kyle Mincey and freshman Dereck Elmera also had an impact on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
Goal scorers included seniors Cam Harrington (3) and Ben Simon (3), junior Fab Joseph (1), and sophomore Ian Baker (1).Sophomore Idriss Traore and junior Alex Goltz finished the day with four saves in net.
