Dublin travelled to Stratton Mountain School (SMS) to play the second of a home and home series. Stratton Mountain School is a premier ski academy and all of the players on their team are well conditioned and gifted athletes. Dublin jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but took some tough fouls to allow an early SMS goal. With great draw control play from Stella Davis (Dublin, NH), Dublin started to dominate the game and scored a series of beautiful assisted goals. A mini run from SMS at the end of the half, narrowed the Dublin lead to 7-3.
Dublin came out strong in the first couple of minutes of the second, extending the lead to 9-3. However, a Dublin two minute penalty, combined with injuries to two Dublin starters, allowed SMS to make a run to narrow the game dramatically. Solid defense from Somali Green (New York, NY) and Diamond Miller (Parsippany, NJ) coupled with superior goaltending from Amani Natson (Hillside, NJ) limited the damage. Weathering the pressure, Dublin didn’t panic and slowed the game down to burn the clock and patiently find a series of open scoring opportunities.
Scoring for Dublin: Stella Davis 6G, 2A; Bette Imhoff (Dublin, NH) 4G, 3A; Sabrina Hayden (Marlborough, NH) 2G, 2A; Brianna Moore (Irvington, NJ) 1A; and Aggie Macy (Dublin, NH) 1A. Amani Natson had a season high 15 saves.
