In a rare Monday afternoon outing, Dublin girls took on High Mowing School. We have conducted joint practices with High Mowing previously and many of the girls have gotten to know and befriend their players over time. Despite the collegial atmosphere, the Dublin starters dominated play in the first half, forging a 10-1 lead at the break. Starting the second half, the Dublin starters were replaced except for Fiona Johnson, who was moved to center middie, and Hope Fowler, who after much begging (on her part), played goalie for the first time. Highlights of the second half included: a number of fine saves by Hope sandwiched around a High Mowing goal by one of Hope's good friends (payback?); Junior Noelia Calcano scoring her elusive first lacrosse goal; determined drives by Madeline Pastan and Tatiyana Dunkers; and fine defensive plays by Destiny Goncalves, Sierra Riley and Diamond Miller. The Dublin girls won the second half 3-2, to achieve a 13-3 victory.
Scoring for Dublin: Kate Barrett (1G); Noelia Calcano (1G); Hope Fowler (3G); Sabrina Hayden (2G); Stella Davis (2A); Bette Imhoff (5G); and Shaneil Wynter (1G).
