While our defense was solid, holding Cardigan to one goal in the first half and five total in the game, turnovers in the clearing game killed our chances of any offensive production. We also showed a lack of tenacity and willingness to take hits in the ground ball battles, which led to extra possessions earned by the Cardigan squad. The team is still learning the difference between attacking the net blindly and impulsively, and slowing the ball down to increase possession time when needed. The combination of these factors limited our ability to create quality offensive chances.
Scoring for Dublin: Danny Figueroa (1 goal), Cam Harrington (1 goal) and Fabryce Joseph (1 goal).
This loss really stung the team, who should be fired up for practice on Monday and our next game versus White Mountain School on Wednesday 4/20.
