I just returned from my third viewing of our school's production of Urinetown. I know every head of school and principal in the country believes they have the best theater program in the country, but we actually do have the best! Please excuse me for boasting about the amazing adults and students who put together and acted in this powerful show. I love how theater allows us to see dimensions of students that we do not always get to see in the daily routine of school. While actors put on costumes and masks, embracing the personalities of the characters they represent, they also reveal a little of themselves when performing these roles. While the show may be over, these students will be forever changed by the experience of performing in and rehearsing for this play. They have learned about the process of preparation and the pressure of performance. Those of us in the audience will also be changed by this performance and will live our lives a little more deeply as a result of spending time with these young people in the Fountain Arts Building. Bravo!
As an aside, I have learned that many people do not know that we have a great SmugMug account where you can see photos of the play and many other events on campus. Our Board President Peter Imhoff has taken some amazing photos that can be found here: https://dublinschoolnh.smugmug.com
