The team's hard work began paying dividends during a home game against Holderness on Saturday. Dublin jumped out to a 15-4 lead, and stingy defense held the visitors to just 17 points in the half. Improved passing and offensive movement led to 14 Dublin assists, five of them from senior co-captain Danny Figueroa '16. Though Holderness closed the gap late in the second half, big shots from Wyatt Switzer '19, Jordan Ferreras '16, and Hunter Bachman '16, along with a charge taken by Figueroa and three crucial free throws in the final minute from Casey Burgess '18, sewed up a 48-42 Dublin victory. Bachman led with 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Will Campbell '19 had 12 points, including 3 of 6 from three-point range.
Dublin (8-10, 6-1 RVAL) travels to Bradford Christian Academy on Wednesday, February 24, looking to avenge an overtime loss at Dublin earlier in the year. Game time is 4:30.
