On Friday the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team traveled to Stoneleigh-Burnham for their annual Holiday Tournament. Dublin was slated to face the tournament hosts in the first game. The game began at a slow place as each team traded turnovers. Then the shooters on each end of the court found their range from the three point line. Dublin trailed the Owls by just four points at the end of the first half 26-22.
The Wildcats continued to make efforts in the second half, but the ball just wouldn't drop through the basket while players like #14 from Stoneleigh-Burnham hit a hot streak.
Despite foul trouble early in the second half, Stella Davis '18 (Dublin, NH) finished the game with 15 points. Shaneil Wynter '17 (Brooklyn, NY) contributed with a strong defensive effort including a blocked shot and the drawing of a charge. Tatiyana Dunkers '19 (Newark, NJ) came off the bench to guard the top shooter and was able to keep her off the boards.
Dublin was unable to finish the tournament due to weather and poor travel conditions. Their next game will be after the Holiday Break.
