Boys and girls team ran at the RVAL Championships on November 2, 2016 in Adams MA. The course was a very difficult, narrow course with a significant climb up the side of Mount Greylock.
The boys race was first. The race evolved into a two team race between Dublin and Four Rivers Charter Public School. While Dublin dominated the early season races, Four Rivers won the last race relying on a couple of runners who had not run earlier. Despite some exceptional individual efforts, Four Rivers finished with four runners in the top 10 and was able to best Dublin by a 35-41 margin. Dublin captured the second place award for the second consecutive year.
The girls were missing a couple of key runners with injuries. This limited the potential for victory -- each of the available runners needed to run at their full capabilities. Critical to this was that Brianna Moore (Irvington, NJ) was running with a back injury that called into question her participation in the race at all. The top five Dublin runners controlled the race throughout and finished with all five runners in the top 11 finishers for a 20 point Championship advantage.
