Both teams came in fired up, and played physically throughout the game. Eagle Hill played very directly from the beginning, consistently advancing the ball from their defensive third to ours. At the 10 minute mark, we failed to clear the ball out of our half, eventually resulting in an early Eagle Hill goal. Minutes later, Eagle Hill broke through our defensive line and scored on a breakaway. Several minutes after that, Dublin fouled an Eagle Hill player about 20 yards from the goal. The player successfully scored on the ensuing direct kick.
The half ended 3-0.
In the second half, physical play continued with many fouls called in both directions. Midway through the second half, Eagle Hill made it a 4-0, essentially sealing the RVAL title.
