In what proved to be very tight races, Dublin boys and girls cross country teams both finished in second yesterday at Stoneleigh Burnham. In the girls race, the team was without two of our top 5 runners who are nursing injuries in anticipation of next week's RVAL Championship race. In a field of 54 runners, the remaining girls did quite well individually, with strong performances by every runner: Lilly Bates (2nd), Aggie Macy (4), Laura Hoffheimer (6th), Diamond Miller (11th), Antonia Bean (18th) and Seo In Cho (28th).
The boys were led by top five finishers: Calvin Bates (4th), Harrison Atlas (5th), Ian Baker (7th), Will Stanhope (11th) and Ryan Hyde (12th). Kyle Mincey (13th) and Max Johnson (16th) both ran very well and helped to displace runners from opposing teams, speaking to Dublin's impressive depth.
All runners are eager to compete in next week's RVAL Championship race at Bart in an effort to reap the benefits of a season of hard work. If all goes well, they have the possibility of earning Dublin School its first Cross-Country championship banners!
