Dublin Girls overwhelmed a spirited Buxton School team 13-1. The Buxton girls played with great passion and fought throughout, but their inability to clear the ball out of the defensive zone against Dublin pressure led to numerous Dublin scoring chances. The Buxton goalie played an inspired game despite the result.
For Dublin’s part, it took a while to cash in, but once they did, they seemed to find an offensive rhythm that had been missing early in the season. Playing a new offensive style this year, the girls exploded offensively in the later half of the first stanza, leading 5-0 at the break. The onslaught continued in the second half with Tatiyana Dunkers (Newark, NJ) scoring her first varsity goal and Clare Fowler D (Greenwich, NY) scoring her first goal since her freshman year. Sabrina Hayden (Marlborough, NH) tallied her first hat trick hours after taking the SATs.
Defense was again stout only allowing occasional penetrations into the defensive zone.
Scoring for Dublin: Stella Davis (Dublin, NH) 3G; Sabrina Hayden (Marlborough, NH) 3G; Adunni Abrams (Brooklyn, NY) 2G; Bette Imhoff (Dublin, NH) 2G; Tatiyana Dunkers (Newark, NJ) 1G; Clare Fowler (Greenwich, NY) 1G; and Destiny Goncalves (Brockton, MA) 1G.
