Saturday's game against High Mowing was a real nail-biter. The Dublin players were in high spirits coming on to the field and continued to display the sportsmanship and positivity that have become staples of our program. Despite the fact that Dublin dominated play and spent at least 80% of the game on High Mowing's side of the field, we were only able to convert one of the dozens of shots taken into a goal in the second half, a powerful shot taken by Fab Joseph (Easton, PA) with a subtle and intelligent assist by Will Boot (Larchmont, NY).
The whole team was at the top of their game. Our defensive line had tremendous poise especially in the second half with some very memorable defensive runs by Idriss Traore (New York, NY) and Jaydon Belliveau-Ryan (Peterborough, NH). Our midfield maintained the movement of the ball up field with some especially powerful offensive runs by Cam Harrington (Francestown, NH) and Joey Hynes (Dover, MA). In the second half, we tried something new by having our starter goalie, Joe DuPont-Roche (Peterborough, NH), play at forward on the left wing. This turned out to be a positive change as he offered us several powerful crosses, which turned into several close goal opportunities. The game ended with a stalemate score of 1-1.
