Dublin matched up against Hyde at the Seacoast Sports Complex in Epping, NH. Ethan Stanhope (Nassau, Bahamas) got the first start of his Dublin career at outside back, and made some key defensive stops early in the game. Despite his efforts, Hyde was out to a 2-0 lead at halftime.
During halftime, coaches emphasized the need for our players to maintain their shape and spacing as the ball moved from one end of the field to another. In the second half, Otto Vogel (Dublin, NH), Joey Hynes (Dover, MA), and Cam Harrington (Francestown, NH) flipped their intensity to a new level, constantly making themselves an open option in the midfield for their forwards and backs.
About 5 minutes into the half, after a foul on Hyde, Jaydon Belliveau-Ryan (Peterborough, NH) snuck a direct kick past a number of Hyde defenders and into the bottom left corner for Dublin's only goal of the contest. Late in the game, Hyde opened up the game with three corner kicks that resulted in goals. The final score was 6-1.
