The Humanities program kicked off the year with two outstanding journalists: the first a New York Times photojournalist, the second a recently retired editor at the Wall Street Journal. Now, as we creep towards the epicenter of the winter months, we will highlight the student talent present in our own community of writers. The January 15th Humanities will be our first annual Poetry Night, with student finalists in the Poetry Out Loud Competition vying for the final spot and a host of student writers presenting their original work for the first time.
In February, the Humanities Program will host local artist, Finn Campman, and his one-man show. Then, in March, as the whisper of spring begins to present itself, we will take a school-wide field tripto watch a professional production of Romeo and Juliet at the Redfern Arts Theater.
Here’s to a season of creativity, compassion, and community.
