Neighbors of the Whitney Boat House, who keep a heavy 16-foot boat on the Lake in the summer, asked the Sailing Team for end-of-season removal assistance again this year. The process involves backing their trailer by hand about 50 feet into the lake from the Lake Club beach so the boat can float on to the trailer scratch-free. Then Dublin Sailors push and pull boat on trailer to shore where trailer is hitched to a small Subaru. Team then pushes car, trailer and boat up hill to parking lot where car can manage load w/out assistance. Most of Dublin Sailing involves students working as pairs in two-person boats. This job is a welcome opportunity for the entire team to work together, and it takes entire team to get the job done.
