Dublin Varsity basketball picked up a win in their home-opener on Wednesday, defeating Charlemont 67-25. Tied 14-14 after six minutes of play, the Wildcats broke it wide open, closing the half with a 15-0 run powered by a number of steals and fast-break buckets. The second half brought more of the same, as Dublin combined for 23 offensive rebounds, 17 steals, and 11 assists. Solid individual performances were turned in by many. Senior co-captain Hunter Bachman '16 led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Three other Wildcats, all freshmen, had big games: Idriss Traore '19 finished with 12 points and 7 offensive rebounds; Wyatt Switzer '19 had 10 second-half points on 5 of 8 shooting; and Will Campbell '19 added 9 points, 7 deflections, and 2 steals.
Dublin (1-4, 1-0 RVAL) returns to action on January 6, when the team travels to play archrival Putney at 3:30 p.m.
