Light air again for the Sailors Monday. Practice started by pulling another Dublin Lake neighbor's boat out at the beach, followed by DG cookies all around as a thank you from the boat-owners. The wind gently teased the team for an hour, during which time Henry, Taya, Matthew, Wyatt, and others honed their 'ghosting' skills.
"Ghosting" is when there is not enough wind to ripple the lake surface, but there is wind enough to be felt on the back of your neck, and that means there is enough wind to sail the boat! The team saw empirical evidence of 'ghosting's effectiveness when several "ghosters" sailed handily past fellow team members who were trying to manually propel their boats back to the dock rather than sailing them.
