We had nearly fifty coaches come to the Dublin School campus for a New England Nordic Association coaches clinic today. We spent the first two hours working on technique on grass and on roller skis. With five former Olympians in attendance and a few coaches of the year we had ample expertise to learn from throughout the day. I learned that every coach should start by teaching body positions and movements without skis and poles.
After a delicious lunch in our Dining Hall we moved inside and talked about our role in developing young men and women with character. Rob Bradlee talked about listening to our athletes and goal setting. Dublin XC coach Kathy Maddock talked about high school and club coaches working together to develop their athletes.
