On Wednesday the Girls’ Soccer Team met the Hyde School at the Seacoast United Outdoor Complex in Epping, NH for a New England Prep School match-up. In 2 previous meetings the Lady Wildcats had been unsuccessful in their attempts to defeat the Phoenix, however in this encounter it was Dublin that come away victorious. Both squads saw numerous offensive opportunities, but it was Adunni Abrams’ ’18 (Brooklyn, NY) strike of a loose ball in the 18 meter box at about 20:00 that proved to be the decider. The intensity of the game remained high for the remaining 60 minutes of play with momentum swinging back and forth between each team.
Hannah Cheyney ’16 (Acton, MA) was named Woman of the Match for inspiring play at defense and helping to secure the shutout win.
Dublin will play 2 games over the weekend. First, travelling to South Hadley, MA on Friday for a 4:30pm River Valley Athletic League match-up at Hartsbrook School. On Saturday, the Lady Wildcats will host a rematch with High Mowing School. Dublin won 7-2 in the previous meeting. That game will be at 3:00pm on Memorial Field.
