After the Marathon Bombings in April, one of our junior girls, Julia, approached me about doing something in honor of the victims and their families. Julia wanted to do something productive, something that would benefit others who may be struggling. She settled on the idea of a blood drive, and, working with my assistant Anne Mackey, contacted the Red Cross to set up a date for their Bloodmobile to visit. The blood drive today was a major success and I thank Julia (now a senior) for her vision and hard work to pull this event off during a very busy time in her own life. We hope that the blood that was donated today will benefit people who are struggling and maybe even save a life. I can't think of a better lesson for our younger students to witness. Thank you Julia and Anne.
