Reach The Beach

Dublin School Reach the Beach Team 2022 at the Startline

Reach the Beach

Every September, Dublin School assembles two teams of brave students, faculty, and staff to run over 200 miles across the state of New Hampshire in under 36 hours.  Year-over-year, our teams have included the youngest runners in this event.

The Reach the Beach (RTB) Running Relay Race is one of the longest distance running relay races in the United States. The RTB Relay takes place in picturesque New Hampshire during the start of the New England foliage season. The relay consists of (a maximum of ) 12 person teams that rotate through 36 transition areas as they cover the approximate 200 mile distance. This means that each relay team member runs 3 legs of varying lengths and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of ~16.6 miles.

The event starts at Cannon Mountain in beautiful Franconia Notch State Park.  From there, the course takes the teams through the White Mountains of New Hampshire, past fields, lakes, mountain top vistas, and the occasional covered bridge; ultimately finishing along the Atlantic coastline at Hampton Beach State Park NH.
