During the winter please check back to see the calendar. In addition, multiple High School and Club teams practice weekdays from 3:30-5:30. When terrain is limited to the snowmaking loop, these groups have priority. Please see the grooming report for details during low-snow periods.
Host Your Event at the Dublin School Outdoor Center
Looking for the perfect place to host your next trail race, mountain bike event, fundraiser, fun run, or community gathering? The Dublin School Outdoor Center is available as a venue for organized events throughout the year.
Our role is simple: we provide the venue—you provide the event.
Event organizers are responsible for registration, timing, volunteers, permits (if applicable), parking coordination, participant communication, and all event logistics. In return, we’ll help make sure the trails are ready for your event.
During the running and mountain biking season, we’ll prepare your selected course by mowing and maintaining the trails. During the winter, we’ll groom your requested race loop so it’s ready for race day.
There is no venue rental fee, we ask organizers to donate to support the continued maintenance and improvement of the Dublin School Outdoor Center trail system. Your contribution helps fund trail maintenance, grooming, signage, bridges, snowmaking, and year-round improvements that benefit everyone who enjoys the trails. It’s fine if you make this contribution after your event. Example: some make a $15 or $10 donation per racer.
Please complete the Event Request For.
Submitting a request does not automatically reserve your date. Once your request has been reviewed, Lindsey Burkhardt, Director of the Dublin School Outdoor Center, will contact you to discuss availability, answer questions, and finalize the details.
We look forward to helping you create an incredible event on the trails!

Here is the report for this weekend from Steve:
"The NC loop is still intact with good coverage. I will do some touch-up later today and groom again in the AM, and then again on Sunday morning. With the cool temps, skiing should be pretty good both days."
Thanks to the people who are donating to help us extend the season!
We survived the rain, and Steve was able to groom this morning. Due to limited usage, we are going to hold off on grooming again until the weekend. We hope to get another weekend of skiing.
We will be grooming the snowmaking loop on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Expect spring conditions. I skied it on Thursday, and it was surprisingly good! Best for skating unless you want to use klister or skin skis for classic skiing.

Using the Center
The Outdoor Center is free and open to the public when not in use for school or regional events and when conditions are safe for skiing. Our center runs on donations made above, Venmo payments to Dublin School, or checks payable to Dublin School. In all cases, please enter "Nordic Trails" in the memo/message box so we can track support for the Outdoor Center. Dublin School is happy to pay for Outdoor Center infrastructure, grooming, and labor. We hope to raise funds to cover generator rental and snowmaking fuel costs. Based on last year's figures, we anticipate these costs to be $45,000.
All skiers must do the following to use the Outdoor Center:
-
Fill out the Outdoor Center Waiver.
-
Follow all safety guidelines at the Center and ski in the designated direction of travel.
Frequently Asked Questions:

Mountain Biking
Our trails are free and open to the public. We ask that you fill out the online waiver and use caution as conditions are variable and hazards may exist. Please consider a donation to the Outdoor Center to help us with the costs of maintaining trails and access to this beautiful place. Any amount is much appreciated!
In addition to being open for skiing in the winter, our Outdoor Center trails are used by our school's Mountain Biking team in the off-season, and are also open to local bikers in the area!
About
We thank Michael Lehmann and Nancy Haynes, children of the founders of Dublin School—Paul and Nancy Lehmann, who donated the land and resources to develop the outdoor Center. They believe strongly in the power that comes from getting young people outside in the winter on a pair of skis.
The Dublin School Outdoor Center opened in January 2014. The 9 km trail system, provides the school with a state of the art training and racing facility to complement its long-existing 20 km trail system below Dublin Road. By combining the School's trails with those of Yankee Publishing's trails, skiers can now ski from the Dublin General Store to the summit of Beech Hill. The trails are designed to be challenging and fun, with lots of twists and turns to keep young people entertained while developing important skills and balance for the sport.
In 2015 the International Ski Federation (FIS) voted to award Dublin School’s Outdoor Center a homologation certificate for it’s five kilometer John Morton designed race course. The homologation process establishes an international standard for race courses to provide guidelines for course design and construction. Today the School is adding an extensive snowmaking and lighting system to one of its race loops. The course plans to or has hosted College Carnivals, Eastern Cups, Prep School races, and BKL and Citizen’s races.
Dublin’s course was intentionally designed to take advantage of Dublin’s high elevation (the course tops out at 1800 feet above sea level) and north-facing aspect. The course is in high demand due to its proximity to Boston and surrounding communities. According to Brad Bates, Head of School, “FIS homologation prequalifies Dublin to host national and international events where athletes hope to earn FIS points and qualify for the US National Team. For us, however, we are just happy to have such a fun and technical venue for our skiers to learn and enjoy the sport of skiing. None of this would have happened without the vision and support of Michael Lehmann, the son of our school’s founders, Paul and Nancy Lehmann. I also appreciate the efforts of our Buildings and Grounds Team and the support of trustee George Foote, who were all involved in constructing these trails.”
The Dublin School Outdoor Center is nestled on the North side of Dublin School's campus on Beech Hill. Equipped with lights and snowmaking to extend the hours of accessible skiing, we welcome public use of this unique facility. The Outdoor Center is the home facility for Dublin-XC, a youth to masters skiing club. Celebrating our 14th season, the Outdoor Center opened in January 2014. The trails are designed to be challenging and fun, with lots of twists and turns to keep young people entertained while developing important skills and balance for the sport. The 9 km trail system provides the School with a state of the art training and racing facility to complement its long-existing 20 km trail system below Dublin Road.
