Shooting star over North America

The North America Nebula is a giant cloud of ionized hydrogen about 2,000 lightyears away.  The Perkin Observatory fortuitously captured a shooting star in the imaging run during the Leonid meteor shower this month.

This image was developed in collaboration with 9th grader Silas Howe.
