Pond Hockey

The pond hockey team is one of the school's newest additions to its athletic program. The squad is coached by Katri Morley, who played hockey at Connecticut College, and over the last several years has become a growing co-ed sport. While still more instructional than competitive, the team will be looking to host its very first friendly match in 2012.

Our ice is a terrifically maintained pond right on campus and throughout much of the winter, team members, which totaled ten in 2011, skate and do drill work. Players can use their own equipment or draw from the lineup of extra helmets, skates, and sticks we have. On days they can't hit the ice, the weight room becomes the destination.

As the sport has attracted wider attention at Dublin, the pond has increasingly become a center of activity. Tuesday nights are particularly fun, featuring a series of pickup games with faculty members and other Dublin residents. Friday nights are even bigger, with the school putting on a big bonfire and students getting the opportunity to use the ice for broomball or curling. It's a wicked good time!
