Girls Lacrosse

At some schools, you need to be a star athlete to be able to play and compete. Dublin is different. Drive and desire offer a lot to build around, even if you're new to a sport. Our girls' lacrosse team is a good example of that. Headed up by veteran college coach, Emily Johnson, who has coached at nearby Keene State College and Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the program has achieved success while still keeping its doors open to students with a range of lacrosse experience.
Strong fundamentals and a commitment to teamwork are just a part of what the program emphasizes. Self-confidence, sportsmanship, leadership, and respect for the sport are other key components. For the younger members of the team, Coach Johnson works closely with them to help them elevate their game so that by the time they're juniors and seniors they have the opportunity to become seasoned, talented players. In the recent past we've seen a few of our best players continue their lacrosse career in college.
The team's schedule covers 17 regular season games. Drawn from the competitive Lakes Region League, opponents are a mix of varsity and junior varsity teams. Our home games, which are held on the beautifully maintained Upper Field, attract a solid group of supporters, including students, faculty, and parents. And when spring has finally sprung, these games offer a real chance for everyone to celebrate the season, the weather, and a group of athletes who've dedicated themselves to a sport they love.
