Senior Exhibition of Mastery
The Senior Exhibition of Mastery is a program that allows a Senior to develop a year-long, interdisciplinary course on a topic of personal interest. At the conclusion of the Junior year, students submit proposals outlining short and long term goals, methods, and a rationale for proposing the course. The course requires a good deal of independence, though it also involves regular meetings with faculty mentors. Usually, a major research paper is the first task, followed by a creative or experiential dimension of learning. Senior Mastery projects are evaluated by an assessment committee composed by the student and culminate in a public display of knowledge.

Senior Internship Program
Seniors planning to do an internship in the Spring Term must begin the process by October 1 of their senior year by attending a conference with their advisor and the Academic Dean. That group will discuss the student’s interests and initial goals for the internship period. The student will then create a formal proposal, due the week before Winter Break. To participate in the Internship Program, a senior must be in good standing with the School community, sustaining a GPA of 2.0 with a Community Living Rating of Good. Seniors will spend at least three days—but not more than two weeks—directly involved in the internship activity. Each intern will create an exhibition to be presented to the assembled community. A list of additional guidelines is available to students wishing to pursue this option.
