Girls Lacrosse vs. Stoneleigh Burnham School - Win (15-3) RVAL Champions - May 15, 2016

Dublin fans, some in war paint.

For the fifth consecutive year, Dublin emerged as the RVAL Girls Lacrosse Champions. Dublin jumped out to a quick two goal lead. However, a determined Stoneleigh team played very aggressive defensively and tried to shut off two of the Dublin players that hurt them earlier in the year.  After our early success, we struggled to get possession of ground balls as Stoneleigh battled intensely for each possession. However, when we were able to get the ball into the offensive zone, our ball and player movement led to a series of artfully created goals.  Midway through the first period, Stella Davis began to dominate the face-off circle, leading to a series of unanswered Dublin goals and opportunities.  At the break, Dublin led 11-3.  We cruised through the second half, not allowing a second half goal. Amani Natson had seven saves in cementing the win.

The senior girls won the RVAL trophy in each of their years at Dublin, setting a high standard  for their teammates who are not graduating.

Scoring for Dublin: Stella Davis (3G,1A); Hope Fowler (5G,4A); Sabrina Hayden (3G,1A) and Bette Imhoff (5G,1A). Note: the studious reader will observe that the scoring totals exceed the total score. Unfortunately, we are not sure if the totals are wrong or the official score is incorrect.
