The Dublin School Girls' Soccer squad traveled to The Putney School on Wednesday for a River Valley Athletic League rivalry match-up. Over the past two years Putney has gotten the better of Dublin, but the tides were changed on the pitch this day. Dublin showed signs of great improvement in skill and team play since the onset of the season as they consistently executed their established system. The Wildcats came out of the gate a bit flat and were caught on their heels early, but a tough resolve pushed them forward, and despite numerous chances on the goal, they found themselves tied 1-1 at halftime. Determined to not experience the same fate as the previous seasons, Dublin put on great offensive pressure, connected an inspiring passing game and cruised through the second stanza for the win.
Stella Davis '18 (Dublin, NH) led the scoring with 4 goals and 1 assist. She was supported by Bette Imhoff '18 (Dublin, NH) 1G, 1A, Adunni Abrams '18 (Brooklyn, NY) 1G, and Somali Green '17 (New York, NY) 1G. Zoe Hewitt '18 (Keene, NH) made 6 saves in the win.
Dublin (5-1 RVAL, 5-2 Overall) will face NEPSAC opponent Vermont Academy on the road Saturday October 8th at 3:00pm.
