Dublin's Varsity boys basketball team earned a big win on Wednesday afternoon, beating a scrappy Eagle Hill squad 47-38 and improving their record in the River Valley Athletic League to 5-0. Eagle Hill had won an early-season, non-league matchup between the two teams back in December, so the Wildcats had something to prove on their home court. They jumped out to a 15-4 lead after six minutes of play, but the Eagles stormed back, closing the deficit to 28-25 at halftime. The game remained close throughout the second half, but Dublin's stingy defense held Eagle Hill to just 14 points, and big offensive plays by senior co-captains Jordan Ferreras '16, Hunter Bachman '16, and Danny Figueroa '16 sealed the win. Bachman led the team with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots, while Figueroa contributed 8 points, including 6-for-6 at the free-throw line, and 4 steals. Seb McLinden '16 also added 8 points and 4 assists.
Dublin (5-6, 5-0 RVAL) travels to Vermont Academy on Friday afternoon, and hosts Bradford Christian Academy on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
