After finishing their first full week of classes, the Dublin School Wildcats were slow out of the gate and found themselves behind early to a strong and disciplined team in Stoneleigh-Burnham. Unable to find their groove and settle play in the midfield, Dublin fell victim to mistouches of the ball and trailed by 5 goals at the end of the first half. Determined to improve their play and compete with the league leaders, the Lady Wildcats showed better ball control and aggressiveness which led to the lone goal of the second stanza. Bette Imhoff ’18 (Dublin, NH) found the back of the net off of a crisp pass from the wing by Stella Davis ’18 (Dublin, NH).
Kate Barrett ’16 was named Woman of the Match for her strong defensive play in the second half that helped keep her opponents from increasing their lead.
Dublin (1-1, 1-1 RVAL) will next face Monandock Region rival High Mowing School on Wednesday September 23rd. The match will be at 2:30pm in Wilton, NH.
