Great opening practices.

The coaches are having a blast with our opening practices. Yesterday we ran and hiked the perimeter of our 400 acre campus and introduced the skiers to the Morderbacken Hill. The Mordebacken Hill goes from the lowest point on our campus at 1100 feet above sea level to the highest: 1900 get above sea level. How many campuses are that high and have so much elevation difference? Anyway, it makes for great training territory on our nordic trails.

Today we had three hours work with the athletes. We started with a team meeting and showed this great video from the FIS about the legendary Holmenkollen World Cup:

Coach Alison Weber led the group in a technique visualization session before sending the team to work with Coach Lisa Bates on Pilates. From there they went back to Alison in the Outing Club to get a ski waxing demonstration.  Finally, they met me in the Endurance Center to perform three of our Circuit #1's. The group attitude was incredible as usual and Diamond and Zoe made my day when they asked if they could keep waxing after practice!
